Take your French to the next level with the French B1.1 Pre-Intermediate Course, designed for learners in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Sihanoukville and across Cambodia who have completed A2.2 or have a solid foundation in French. Strengthen your speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills while gaining confidence in more complex conversations and practical communication.

French Latitude 2: French B1.1 Pre-Intermediate Course Overview

Chapter 1: Entreprendre (Undertake)
Learn to propose actions, respond to suggestions, and discuss giving, offering, or lending.
Grammar Focus: Demonstrative pronouns, interrogative pronouns, and expressions of frequency.

Chapter 2: Vous avez gagné! (You Have Won!)
Practice responding to requests, making promises, and structuring your speech effectively.
Grammar Focus: Use of le, en, y; adverb formation with -ment; discourse organizers for structuring speech.

Chapter 3: Ne quittez pas… (Hold the Line…)
Improve telephone interactions, make accusations, and express reproach or disagreement.
Grammar Focus: Vocabulary related to the workplace; emphasis with c’est… que and c’est… qui.

Chapter 4: Argent trop cher! (It’s Too Expensive!)
Learn to interact through written correspondence, express opposition, and make complaints or protests.
Grammar Focus: Expressions of opposition; use of toujours, déjà, and ne… jamais.

Chapter 5: Le pétrole fou! (Crazy Petrol!)
Express causes and consequences, and emphasize key points effectively.
Grammar Focus: Passive voice; grammatical structures for expressing causes and consequences.

Chapter 6: Parlez-moi d’amour… (Talk to Me About Love…)
Express hypotheses, conditions, and certainties while exploring romantic contexts.

  • Your course fee includes one digital copy of the learning materials. If you’d prefer a hard copy, you can purchase one from our recommended supplier at an extra cost.
  • Group classes are designed for 30 academic hours per CEFR level for 3-7 students. If only two students enrol, the course will shift to a semi-private format with 20 academic hours.
  • Want to switch to a different group or schedule? No problem! Just let us know at least 7 days before the course starts.
  • All our teachers are native speakers of the target language. If your teacher falls ill or has an emergency, we’ll arrange a substitute who’s fully briefed on your progress.
  • Once you’ve started with your group, switching to another group or schedule isn’t possible.
  • Please note that course fees are non-refundable once the group classes have begun.
  • We can record group lessons for later viewing, but only if everyone in the class agrees before the course starts.
  • At the end of every program, you’ll take a final exam (both written and verbal). To move up to the next CEFR level, you’ll need to score at least 70%.
  • After completing your final exam, you’ll receive a progress report, recommendations, and a certification for your hard work!
